About Us

The Chicago Anglers Club meets at least monthly during the Spring summer and fall to compete, meet, catch fish and learn. Mini seminars will be featured throughout the season along with a pre-season introductory seminar to all new members at the annual meeting.

We fish local lakes and waters using floats, rods, poles and live bait. The point of the club is to grow fishing locally, give anglers a place to learn new techniques, meet other anglers and to grow their own fishing skills.

The club was formed this year and expects to attract 24 – 50 new members this year. To join, click here for more information.

All abilities are welcome to compete, but the club is and will be built on the education of anglers who wish to catch more fish. As the season goes on, a handicapping system will be put in place to level the field for anglers with less experience or ability.
The club will also raise money to provide money to improve fishing habitat working with the park district and D.N.R. to improve habitat & fish population locally. We will also leave the venues cleaner than when we came. Each outing the fishing club members will be responsible for cleaning the bank around them and on the way to the spot.

Modern Fishing in the U.S.
America has been stuck in a fishing rut for several years all because of the big TV shows and bass tournamentsbt, distort what real fishing is supposed to be. Fishing is supposed to be going fishing several times in a month near you. Simple, getting outdoors and catching fish. Here is the condition of modern fishing.

A. Go to a remote, exotic lodge
B. Jump in your $25,000 “Basssss” boat (why is it that you can only catch one species out of these boats?)
C. Take out one of your three 6 -foot tall tackle boxes filled with $2,500 in lures purchased in sets of 15 of the same lure in different color combinations.
D. Place your electronic device of choice (sonar, GPS, temperature gauge) in the water
E. Head in for lunch when it “must be too hot” for the bass to feed after hours of casting.

Real fishing is grabbing your gear and driving less than 10 minutes to a local spot. Find a nice spot on the bank, enjoy the outdoors and rig up. Begin catching fish and enjoy.

Chicagoland Anglers’ Club

The Midwest’s premier club for learning the art of fishing. The entire club is based on educating kids, families and adults on the art of catching fish from local waters. The thought of taking the kids and heading hours in the car to a strange lake just to sit fishless will be a thing of the past. Click here to join today.

The Club of Clubs

The Chicagoland Anglers Club is being launched to reverse all this. We start with local lakes and ponds and work on catching fish. Sometimes fewer than 10 but other times we will catch fish in the 100s.

The nearer to you the better, as you can go fish for 1 hour after work, or 2 to 3 hours on a weekend while driving under 10 minutes to get there.

Keep your boat in the garage, we will be fishing from shore and learning how to fish rather than learning how the wind blows you around in your boat. As far as lures, fish don’t eat lures in the wild so we won’t be using them either. Electronics will not be used to help us find fish as where we are fishing there will be hundreds of fish right in front of you most any lake we fish.

Lastly, if you want to catch over 100 fish including some giant 10 -pound plus fish in 4 hours, this is the club for you. . If you want to catch a lot of fish and become good at fishing, this club is a must.

Instructional Club
Members of the U.S. Fishing Team along with other experienced celebrity guests will be teaching you how to catch fish. Starting with basics, each season we will get the club up to speed and teach the basic techniques such as knots, rigs, set ups, to catch all types of fish near you. Once everyone has grasped the basics, the sessions will increase to techniques and how-to demonstrations in the class and on the bank. To top it all off there will be several fishing competitions during the year to “test” what we have all learned together along with an annual giant area show-down tournament that will cap our season with big prizes and competitors from all over the Midwest.

What else is in store for me in the Chicagoland Anglers Club?
Through your Club membership you will receive the monthly club newsletter and be eligible for tackle give-aways, club gear and access to the special members’ only area of ChicagoAngler.com. Once in side, you will be able to see online lessons, get tips and also receive tackle discounts on all ChicagoAngler.com tackle purchases and get “first choice” of new tackle offerings via members only previews.

The club is presented by members of the American Fishing Association. The organization’s goal is to expand the sport of fishing with kids, women, family, physically challenged anglers and ex-anglers. The way to do this is through success. We create the events, seminars and web site education to further the sport and increase the enjoyment of local fishing. Only through increased local fishing can the sport of fishing reward us and grow. Exotic and expensive complex fishing is only for a few while the resources of America’s local outdoors go under appreciated and unused. Through awareness, proper usage and education, local fishing will improve our waters and facilities creating a new era of fishing as a sport. That of catching fish.
